EMIL A. STRONG

Emil Strong

Emil A. Strong, 85, of Roseville, died at 6:03 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 1996, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Galesburg.

He was born March 17, 1911, in Frederick to Cleve and Edith Ethel (McMeans) Strong. He married Myrtle Ross on Jan. 1, 1934, in Monmouth. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Dennis Allen, Gerold Eugene and Danny Dean Strong, all of Monmouth; two daughters, Edith Marie Sikes of Macomb and Sandra Kay Mackey of Monmouth; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Finna Berrong Strong, and one brother.

He was born in Frederick and raised near Kirkwood. He later spent much of his life in the Monmouth area and the last 40 years had resided in Roseville. He was a member of The Seventh Day Adventist Church in Ft. Madison, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Asbury Cemetery in Roseville with the Rev. Charles Dye officiating.
