Doris K. Scholes, 85, of Bushnell, died at 5:10 a.m. Monday, March 25, 1996, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born Aug. 27, 1910, in Astoria, a daughter of George F. and Mabelle Maxwell Ritchey. She married John H. Scholes on June 11, 1935, in Bushnell. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, John R. Springfield; two daughters, Kathryn R. Stucker of Hillsborough, Calif., and Pat R. Scholes of Louisville, Colo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
A graduate of Knox Conservatory of Music, she taught music in the Bushnell school system for several years. She was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter in Bushnell and Bushnell Women’s Club. She also was a member of Bushnell Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Paine officiating. Calling hours will be after 2 p.m. this afternoon at the funeral home, where visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8. Burial will be in Bushnell Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Bushnell Rescue Squad or the Alzheimer’s Association.
