VeteranRalph Stoneking Dies At Age 71

Ralph Lloyd Stoneking, 71, of Plymouth, died at 9:58 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 1990 in McDonough District Hospital.

He was born near Brooklyn in Schuyler County, a son of William “Ruby” McKinley and Dolly Daisy (Hillyer) Stoneking.

Surviving are one son, William David Stoneking of Amboy; one daughter, Terry Sliger of Ipava; one brother, Clyde Eugene Stoneking of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Mary Roberta Biswell of Nauvoo; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a friend, Nellie Dobbins of Plymouth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Carrol Stoneking.

Mr. Stoneking was a cement finisher. He attended Guinea School and was a member of the Carthage VFW and Plymouth American Legion. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Hamilton Funeral Home in Plymouth with Rev. Henry Nash officiating and burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens near Macomb.

Memorials may be made to the Plymouth Old Settlers Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice.
