Giles Sears, 76, of Ipava died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, July 22, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born March 17, 1914, in Avon, a son of Joseph and Dora Foster Sears.
He is survived by two sisters, Helen Ingram of Moline and Mae Schiller of Rock Island, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He worked for 30 years at the Rock Island Arsenal before retiring in 1969. He was a member of Ipava Masonic Lodge No. 213 AF&AM.
Graveside Masonic services were conducted by Ipava Lodge No. 213 AF&AM at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Ipava Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Ipava Rescue Squad.
Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.
