CHARLES F. “FRANK” SHEETS

Charles Sheets Dies Dec. 31

Charles F. “Frank” Sheets, 79, of Lewistown, died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 1989, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born April 26, 1910, in Lewistown Township, a son of Charles and Flora Brewer Sheets. He married Bernice Lindsey in April 1945 in Burlington, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Lester “Sonny” Lindsey of Pekin and Larry Lindsey of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Glen of Canton and Greg “Bob” of Liverpool; one sister, Mrs. Bernadine Maxson of Table Grove; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

He had been employed by the Illinois Department of Transportation in Fulton County for several years and later worked as a grinder at the Dana Corp. in Havana, retiring in 1973.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. this morning at the Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown, with Rev. Barbara Short and Rev. Frank Hungerford officiating. Burial will be in the Baughman Cemetery in rural Smithfield.

Memorials may be made to the Spoon River Towers Bus Fund.
