Dr. Richard Stoops Dies In Florida

Dr. Richard B. Stoops, 87, a former Ipava resident, died Mar. 16, 1985, at his home in Boca Raton, Fla.

He was born in Ipava in 1897. His father was a physician in Ipava at the time of his birth and for several years. He was a 1915 graduate of Ipava High School. He practiced internal medicine in Chicago for 45 years prior to retiring in 1977 and moving to Florida.

He married Mary DeForest who preceded him in death in 1969. He later married Vera Herman. She survives at Boca Raton.

Also surviving are one daughter, Dorothy Sewell of Aurora, and three granddaughters.

Funeral services were held in Boca Raton on Mar. 18. Cremation rites were accorded and the ashes interred on the family plot in the Ipava Cemetery.
