Fred M. Smith, 84, of Astoria, died at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 1984, at his home.
He was born June 12, 1900, in Vermont, the son of Arthur and Sarah (Dennis) Smith.
Survivors include one son, Arthur Smith of Oglesby; three daughters, Mrs. Ted (Wilma) Matthews of Ottawa, Mrs. Lyle (Helen) Westcott of Astoria, and Mrs. Harold (Elizabeth) Hanson of Palm Springs, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arlie Smith of Rockford.
He was preceded in death by two sons and one brother.
Funeral services were to be held at 11 a.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
