Glen H. Schisler Dies At Age 89

Glen H. Schisler, 89, of Smyrna, Tenn., formerly of Macomb and Astoria, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1982, in Smyrna.

He was born July 20, 1893 near Astoria, a son of Charles and Ellen Davis Schisler. He married Hattie Harbert. She died May 27, 1967.

Surviving are one son, Charles of Orlando; two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Lois) Smith Jr. of Nashville and Mrs. Andrew (Mary) Parsons Jr. of Orlando; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Astoria Church of the Brethren. He attended Bonebrake Theological Seminary and was an ordained minister serving a number of pastorates in Illinois. He was a piano technician for 50 years and operated a music store for 14 years in Macomb until 1946 when he moved to Orlando, Fla., where he resided for 31 years. He had resided in Nashville and Smyrna since 1977.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
