Mildred Southwood Dies At Age 75

Mildred E. Southwood, 75, of 625 S. Illinois St., Lewistown, died at 2 a.m. Sept. 8, 1982, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born Aug. 3, 1907, in Ipava, the daughter of Blake and Pearl (Lalicker) Johnson. She married Russell Southwood June 6, 1933, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died in November of 1961.

Survivors include one son, Lawrence Southwood of Channahon; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Marjorie June) Owens of Acton, Calif., and Mrs. Shelby (Norma) Lightle of Lostant; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Don (Margaret) Reed of Camarillo, Calif.

Two brothers preceded her in death.

She was a retired school teacher and retired from the Canton School District. She attended Lewistown United Methodist Church and was a member of the Mary and Martha Class of the church. She was also a member of the Lewistown Professional Women's Association, was a member of Fulton County Retired Teachers Association and the Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Henry Memorial Home. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
