Mr. and Mrs. Loy McMullen and Beth flew to California Saturday night, Aug. 1, where they were called by a serious auto accident, involving Mrs. McMullen’s son Bill Schavone and family of Lakewood.
Mrs. Schavone was killed and Bill and the two children, a girl 3 and a boy 5, were badly injured and are hospitalized.
The little boy underwent brain surgery immediately following the accident. He also received a broken arm.
A memorial service was held Tuesday morning, Aug. 4, for Mrs. Carol Marie Schavone, 28. She was buried in Long Beach, Calif. cemetery.
Mr. McMullen came home by plane Tuesday, Aug. 4.
