Thomas W. Sullivan Dies At Age 91

Thomas Wesley Sullivan, 91, a lifetime Astoria area resident, died Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Abingdon Nursing Home. He had been ill the past year.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Louis Root officiating. Burial was in the Astoria Cemetery.

Mr. Sullivan was born Jan. 5, 1879, near Astoria, the son of John and Rachel Sears Sullivan. On Jan. 23, 1907, he married Iris Leighty. She survives.

Mr. Sullivan was a retired farmer and was a member of the IOOF Lodge and the Astoria United Methodist Church.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by one son, Willis of Galesburg; one daughter, Mrs. Twila Russell of Waterman; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Eight brothers and sisters and one grandchild died previously.
