Mrs. Mattie Ann Shaw, 91, an Astoria resident almost all of her life, died early Tuesday morning in her home near here.
Born July 2, 1869, in Astoria, she was a daughter of John and Lavina Leas Gardner. She was married to William Shaw, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include four children: Mrs. Faye Willock and Willis Shaw, Astoria; John Shaw, Ipava; Otis Shaw, Canton; 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Ferby Ludlum of Canton. Three daughters, 6 sisters, 1 brother, 2 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Astoria Church of the Brethren with the Rev. D. Edwin Rodabaugh officiating. Burial will be in Salem cemetery.
The family will meet friends at the Shawgo Memorial Home from 7 to 9 this evening. Friends may call until noon Thursday, and after 1 p.m. at the church.
