Infantile Paralysis

Wednesday morning at about 8 o’clock the eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shaw of near Bluff City, died, death being due to infantile paralysis. They have the sympathy of their many friends in their great sorrow.

A private funeral will be held Thursday at one o’clock, conducted by Rev. S. C. Williams. Burial in Astoria cemetery.

Funeral Held

Marshall Dale Shaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shaw of Bluff City, was born May 27, 1913, and died Mar. 31, 1920, death being due to infantile paralysis, aged 6 years, 10 months and 4 days.

His sickness was only of five days duration during which time he suffered greatly.

He leaves besides his parents, two brothers, Lester and Myron to mourn his untimely death.

Rev. S. C. Williams, pastor of the M. E. church, Astoria, conducted funeral services Thursday at the home at one o’clock and spoke words of tenderest sympathy and comfort, of deepest Christian hope and promise. Burial was made in the Astoria cemetery.

BLUFF CITY — Our community was shocked Wednesday by the sudden death of little Dayle Shaw the 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shaw. He was stricken Thursday, March 25 and passed away Wednesday, March 31, funeral services were held at the home Thursday at 1 o’clock by Rev. Williams of Astoria. Interment in Astoria cemetery. The family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
