Isabella Serff passed away Saturday, February, 5, at the Home of The Church of The Brethren at Girard, Ill., after a lingering illness, aged about 89 years.
Deceased was the daughter of Geo. and Susanna Serff and came to the state of Illinois in the year 1869. She has been a member of The Church of The Brethren since 1873. She was well known in this vicinity having made her home with the family of Jeremiah Klinedinst in Woodland township for many years, where her wants were ministered unto. After the death of Mrs. Klinedinst a few years ago, she and Lucy Kling who also made her home there, went to live at the Brethren Home in Girard. The deceased had been in poor health for the past forty years.
S. G. Bucher went to Girard, accompanying the remains to Astoria on the afternoon train Monday. Services were conducted by the Brethren from the 73rd Psalm after which interment was made in the Woodland cemetery.
