VERMONT — Wednesday, Feb. 21, Mrs. James Swartz’ spirit took its flight to the realms of the unknown. Her maiden name was Malinda Hays. She was born in Fleming county Ky., in 1831, came to this vicinity with her parents when only four years old. She was united in marriage to James Swartz in 1850 and lived with her husband just fifty years. She was much devoted to her husband and children, a good neighbor and kind friend. Funeral occurred from her late home. Rev. Ross again officiating.
