Judge Thomas C. Sharp, died at his residence in Carthage, Tuesday night of paralysis. He was editor and proprietor of the Carthage Gazette and well known in this section of the country. He was one of the several men tried for the murder of Joseph and Hyman Smith in the old stone jail at Carthage on June 27, 1844, but the jury promptly acquitted him. He was 76 years old at the time of his death. He leaves a widow, two children and an adopted daughter. — Macomb Daily Journal
