She was born Aug. 27, 1942, in Rock Island, a daughter of Cleitus and Letha Gorsuch Hickman. She married George Runkle on March 24, 1961. He survives.
Also surviving are three children, Pam Cunningham of Columbus, Ind., Peggy (and Ronnie) Rittenhouse of Waukee, Iowa, and Tim (and Kim) Runkle of Jacksonville; one sister, Marie White of Birmingham, Ala.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Kay Heitz.
She graduated from Rushville High School.
She worked for 30 years at JC Penney’s while farming with George. They were awarded the 2020 Master Farmer’s Award for being life-long Schuyler County farmers.
She attended Littleton United Methodist Church where she volunteered at church dinners.
Graveside services were held Friday in Littleton Cemetery with Rev. Rob Kirkham officiating. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
