Donnie "Butch" RoyerDonnie D. “Butch” Royer, 75, of rural Doddsville died at 4:31 p.m. Nov. 15, 2018, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Dec. 7, 1942, in Macomb, a son of Richard and Bernetta Willey Royer. He married Clarene Schrodt on June 10, 1961, in Industry. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Brenda (and Joe) Greene of Salem, Wis., and Polly (and Van) Hanson of Forest, Va.; one half brother, Todd Royer of Colchester; one stepsister, Ginger Miller of Peoria; five stepbrothers, Randall Featherlin of Adair, Rick Featherlin of California, Rod Featherlin of Littleton, Ronald Featherlin of Bushnell and Rex Featherlin of Industry; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry Royer, Dannie Royer and Obie Royer; and one stepbrother, Roger Featherlin.

He graduated from Industry High School. He was a farmer and owner and operator of Royer’s Meat Processing. He later worked in maintenance and as a truck driver for Bridgeway and at Farm King, both in Macomb.

He served as president of the Doddsville Cemetery Board and also served on the Brooklyn Township Board.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. Larry Cortelyou officiating. Burial was in Blackburn Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
