Bert Ross IIIBert Alexander Ross, III, 73, of Rushville died at 7:55 a.m. Oct. 21, 2018, at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born June 27, 1945, in Long Beach, Calif., a son of Bert A. II and Metta Reiley Ross. He never married.

Surviving are one sister, Susan (and Ed) Jones of rural Rushville; four nieces, Metta Brown, Lana Parrish, Jamesie Zuniga and Sallie Graham; five great nieces, Metta Hammon, Alex Zuniga, Madison Zuniga, Jamie Zuniga and Ivy Zuniga; three great nephews, Cody Parrish, Jacob Brown and Justin Brown; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James Reiley Ross.

He graduated from Woodland High School in Woodland, Calif., with the class of 1963. He worked at a dealership as a mechanic during high school in Woodland. He later worked as a janitor in Sacramento, Calif., over 30 years, where he had to ride a bus for 20 miles each day to get there. After retirement, he moved to Rushville due to ill health.

He was a member of Rushville First Southern Baptist Church and the Valecians Car Club in Woodland, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Jerry Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Browning Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
