Harold RasmussenHarold C. “Hal” Rasmussen, 88, of Greeley, Colo., died at 1:47 a.m. Aug. 5, 2017, in Greeley.

He was born Oct. 3, 1928, in South Bend, Ind., the son of Henry Carl and Myrl Hammond Rasmussen.

Surviving are three children, Beth, Ann and John Rasmussen of Denver, Colo.; two step children, Marc and Matt Williams of Traverse City, Mich.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Clemens and Myrle Ann Anthony; his first wife, Charma Clift Rasmussen; and his second wife, Sally Anne Williams.

He served in the Army during the Korean conflict, then graduated from the University of Illinois. He enjoyed a long career in petroleum exploration.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Matthew Thiner officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Ipava Cemetery with military rites provided by the Ipava American Legion.

Memorials may be made to the Ipava American Legion.
