Bessie RoseBessie Eloise Baldry Featherlin Rose, 83, of Stockton, Calif., formerly of Macomb, died July 29, 2016.

She was born May 18, 1933, in Astoria, a daughter of Jack and Inez Danner Baldry. She married Oliver Featherlin Jr. on Nov. 22, 1955. He preceded her in death in 1970. She then married James Rose on Feb. 16, 1977, in Reno, Nev. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Lois Stenger, Rhonda (and Dan) Brown and Becky (and Ralph) Faxon, all of Macomb; two sons, Dave (and Laurie) Featherlin of Lodi, Calif., and John Featherlin of Marysville, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

She was a 1951 graduate of Astoria High School. She attended Western Illinois College. She briefly taught fourth grade in Table Grove, was a housewife and helped run Feather’s Sport Center in Macomb.

She belonged to Zeta Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi in Stockton for 27 years.

Cremation rights have been accorded. Celebrations of Life will be held at later dates in California and Illinois, with burial at a later date in Paloma.

Bessie Baldry Rose

Visitation/Celebration of Life for Bessie Baldry Rose of Stockton, Calif., will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Church of the Nazarene, 1415 W. Grant St., Macomb.

She passed away July 29, 2016.

Memorials may be made to the Hope Thrift Food Pantry.
