He was born Dec. 27, 1940, in Virginia, Ill., the son of Lee and Geraldine Coplan Raymond. He married Helen B. Decker on Oct. 29, 1961, in Literberry.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce (and Cathy) Raymond of Plainfield, Ind., and Richard Raymond of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Joanne Pontifex of Burlington, Iowa, and Cathy (and Steve) Ellis of Plainfield, Ind.; one sister, Jean Hager of Virginia, Ill.; one special friend, Pam Smith of Ipava; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by twin sons, Jeffrey and Christopher Raymond.
He was a tractor mechanic at Bedwell Farm Equipment in Bushnell. He then was owner and operator of Ipava Tractor Repair in Ipava.
He was a member of Vermont Antique Tractor Club and the Ipava American Legion.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Doug Krukewitt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Virginia, Ill.
