Darel Rice

Darel L. Rice, 67, of Beardstown, formerly of Rushville, died July 13, 2015, at his residence.

He was born April 25, 1948, in Beardstown, a son of Russell “Bud” and Twila Royer Rice.

Surviving are one son, Marty L. (and Veda) Rice of Wingo, Ky.; one brother, Scott (and Patricia) Rice of Brownwood, Texas; one granddaughter, Kaety Rice; one niece; two aunts; two uncles; and several cousins.

He graduated from Rushville High School in 1967.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was a life member of Guthrie Pierce Post 1239, Veterans’ of Foreign Wars.

He worked as an auto mechanic until retiring due to ill health.

Memorial services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Mr. David Haney officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery. Graveside Military Honors were conducted by a U.S. Army Honors Detail, Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and Guthrie Pierce Post #1239 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
