MARVIN BURDETTE RUTLEDGE

Marvin Rutledge

Marvin B. Rutledge, 87, of Rushville, formerly of Adair, died at 7:27 p.m. Oct. 9, 2012, at St. John's Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Scotland Township, McDonough County, a son of Ray and Frances Caspall Rutledge. He married Phyllis Marshall on July 27, 1947, in Carthage. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Larry (and Ann) Rutledge of Woodbine, Iowa; one daughter, Diana (and Joe) Pleviak of Rushville; one brother, Robert (and Pat) Rutledge of Adair; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Adair High School.

He lived in the Adair area most of his life where he farmed before retiring. He moved to Rushville in 2002.

He was a member of Macomb American Legion and attended First United Methodist Church in Rushville. He also served on Table Grove Elevator Board and Adair Fire Department Board.

Services were held Saturday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb where military rites were conducted by Macomb American Legion.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Rushville, Culbertson Hospital in Rushville or McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
