Walter L. Randall, 85, of Lewistown died at 7:20 p.m. Aug. 22, 2008, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Sept. 21, in rural Lewistown, a son of Tom and Fannie Hamm Randall. He married Mary Vaughn on Nov. 9, 1946, in Alton. She died Jan. 22, 2003.

He also was preceded in death by two infant sons, two brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are one son, Clifton (and Gwen) Randall of Lewistown; two daughters, Susie (and John) Waller of Acworth, Ga., and Nancy (and Jim) Webb of Ipava; one brother, Tom (and Dorene) Randall of Lewistown; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was a World War II Army veteran, and a member of Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1.

He was a member of Lewistown First Presbyterian Church, and a former member of Lewistown Kiwanis.

He was the postmaster in Lewistown for many years before retiring.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Rev. Danie deBeer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military rites conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Bishop Post 1.
