MAXINE E. (BIGGERSTAFF) ROSE

Maxine Rose

Maxine E. Rose, 84, of Golden Acres Nursing Home in Canton died at 9:26 a.m. Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Graham Hospital.

She was born Jan. 20, 1921, in Astoria, a daughter of Harold and Mussette Fisher Biggerstaff. She married Herman L. Rose on Oct. 9, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo. He died March 24, 1987.

She also was preceded in death by one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Dearl (and Marilyn) and Harold (and Linda), both of Canton; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale Biggerstaff of Kentucky; and one sister, Carol Golay of Arizona.

She worked in advertising at the Daily Ledger for many years, retiring in 1965. She also worked for Christian Services of Canton.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Services will be today at 11 a.m. at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, with visitation one hour before. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Christian Services of Canton or Juvenile Diabetes Association.
