Gordon W. Royer, 67, of Astoria died at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, in the Mason District Hospital emergency room in Havana.

He was born Oct. 14, 1937, in Astoria, a son of Cecil Robert and Anna May Hoover Royer. He married Betty Hart on April 12, 1957. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Penny Klinedinst (and Tony) Tart of Peoria and Linda (and Ali) Mansour of Dixon; two sons, Wayne (and Nancy) of Macomb and Robert of Astoria; one brother, Raymond (and Nancy) of St. Louis; one stepbrother, David (and wife) Cox of Atlanta, Ga.; one stepsister, Marian (and Wilbur) Kindhart of Rushville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

An Army veteran, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6408 in Havana.

A carpenter for more than 40 years, he retired in 2000. He was a member of Carpenters Local 644 in Pekin.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited and had served as a Boy Scout leader in Havana.

Cremation has been accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date.
