James Don Reed died Nov. 19, 2003, at his home in Camarillo, Calif.
He was born Dec. 12, 1914, in San Fernando, a son of George and Marjorie Bush Reed. He married Margaret Johnson, formerly of Ipava, on Sept. 9, 1948. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Delbert Don (and Matilda) Reed of Oceanside, Calif.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a great-grandchild.
He graduated from elementary and high school in San Fernando. He first graduated from University of California Los Angeles with a degree in chemical engineering, then graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in pharmacy. He practiced that profession and also owned Reed Pharmacy in San Fernando until his retirement in 1976.
He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Lions International and a deacon in the First Christian Church of Santa Paula, Calif.
