Donald Ring

Donald Lockard Ring, 82, of Cypress, Calif., formerly of Astoria, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in Los Alamitos, Calif.

He was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Astoria, a son of Lawson and Dorothy Bergquist Lockard. He married Marjorie Carol Jacks on Aug. 18, 1984, in Santa Ana, Calif. She survives.

Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Sharon (and Tom) Lemkuil of Goleta, Calif., and Sonya (and Richard) Mendoza of Escondido, Calif.; two sisters, Linda (and Charles) Leib of Astoria and Thyra Warren of Neptune, Fla.; one brother, Bill (and Harriet) Lockard of Canton; and five stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

He retired as director of purchasing at Edging Oil Co.

A memorial service was held Thursday at First Baptist Church of Lakewood in Long Beach, Calif. Cremation has been accorded. Burial of ashes was in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Whittier, Calif. Rose Hills Mortuary in Whittier was in charge of arrangements.
