Bessie Reno, 102, of Astoria, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, March 18, 1996, at Astoria Healthcare Center.
She was born Oct. 13, 1893, in Browning Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of Charles C. and Sarah Wright Reno.
Surviving are one nephew, Hugh Reno of Galesburg; two great-nephews; and one great-niece.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Most of her adult life was spent in the banking business. In the 1930s, she worked in the Currency Exchange, because there was no bank in Astoria. Later, she worked at Farmers State Bank in Astoria for many years. She was a member of the Sorosis Club. She also was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, where visitation will be one hour before services. Rev. Lance Leeds and Collis Trone will officiate. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
