GERALD E. “JERRY” RAISTRICK

Gerald Raistrick

Gerald E. “Jerry” Raistrick, 59, of Springfield, died at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996, at Mercy Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born June 10, 1936, in Peoria, a son of Willard and Mary E. Ocker Raistrick. He married Kathryn L. Lehnen on June 8, 1985, in Peterstown. She survives.

Also surviving are his stepfather and mother, Norvin and Mary E. Schneider of Peoria; one daughter, Victoria A. Raistrick of Peoria; and two brothers, Phillip C. Raistrick of Normal and Steven W. Raistrick of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He was a former schoolteacher in Astoria. He was a rehabilitation instructor for the Department of Rehabilitation Services for the state of Illinois for 18 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Capitol Area Woodworkers in Springfield. He was a member of the American Massage Therapists Association and the Illinois Association for Education and Rehabilitation of Blind and Visually Impaired. He was a past president of the Midwest Area Council of Rehabilitation Teachers.

Funeral services were held Friday at Wilton Mortuary with Rev. Joe Eby officiating. Burial was in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
