VeteranRichard Rogers Dies In Canton

Richard “Dick” Rogers, 45, of R.R. 1, Spencer, Ind., formerly of Canton, died at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 1990, at the home of his aunt, Alice Zaborac of 331 E. Locust, Canton.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1945, in Macomb, a son of Theodore and Lorraine (Rogers) Miller. He married Cheryl Barlow in Bushnell on March 12, 1966. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents of Marietta; two daughters, Angela Rogers of Richmond, Ky. and Tara Rogers of Ellettsville, Ind.; two brothers, Tom Rogers of North Henderson and Delbert Rogers of LaCrosse, Wis.; and three sisters, Pauline McDonald of Bushnell, Sherry Rhodes of Hanover Park and Phyllis Miller of Lawrence, Kans.

Mr. Rogers had been employed by Navi-Star in Indianapolis, Ind. for 25 years. He was a member of the Checkrow Community Church near Canton, UAW Local 98 of Indianapolis, and a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday afternoon at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton with Rev. Jim Vancil officiating. Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Memorial Home.

Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House of Indianapolis; the Fulton County Unit of the American Cancer Society; or the Bone Marrow Transplant Fund at University Hospital in Indianapolis.
