GALE E. RANKIN

VeteranGale E. Rankin Of Avon Dies

Gales E. Rankin, 74, of Avon died at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born April 28, 1916, in Vermont, a son of Edward and Mary Elsie Royal Rankin. He married Mildred N. Groom on Jan. 18, 1947, in Galesburg. She survives.

He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Katherine Young of Chugwater, Wyo.

He was preceded in death by one son, Guy E.

A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Vermont American Legion Post No. 26.

He was a self-employed tractor mechanic and a member of the Christian Church.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Marshall Litchfield officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
