Bud Roosa, 80, Dies Monday

Walter A. (Bud) Roosa, 80, a life-time resident of Astoria, died Monday night at his home here following a lengthy illness. Mr. Roosa was born Aug. 23, 1879, in Astoria, a son of Arthur B. and Mary E. Smith Roosa. He was first married to Salome Hoke, who died in 1917. On Oct. 2, 1919, he was married to Lula St. Clair who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Naomi Boyle of Lake Villa and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Harmen of Bloomington. One son and one brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Roosa was a member of St. Rose Catholic church in Rushville, where funeral services were held at 10 a.m. this morning with the rev. Louis M. Condon officiating. Burial was in the Astoria cemetery. The Rosary was recited Tuesday evening in the Shawgo Memorial Home.

Pallbearers were Ozley Hibbs, Don, James and Howard Roosa, Keith Danner and Tom Tregellas.
