MARTIN BERNARD RANDALL

Martin Randall Passed Away At Macomb Hospital

Martin B. Randall passed away Friday night at 9:10 o’clock at the St. Francis hospital, Macomb, following an extended illness, due to heart trouble and other complications.

Martin Bernard Randall, second son of Jesse and Anna Randall, was born near Berthoud, Colo., April 21, 1901 and departed this life September 12, 1930. At the age of seven weeks he came to Illinois and has lived near Astoria and Bushnell most of his life.

He attended the Valparaiso University at Valparaiso, Ind., afterward going to Davenport, Iowa, where he graduated with high honors from the Palmer School of Chiropractic, practicing in Bushnell and Blandinsville for a time. He afterward attended a Mortician School in Chicago and again graduated with honors. He then worked at his profession as undertaker, in Metropolis, Ill., and Peoria, Ill., until disease caused by the flu, overcame him.

All the medical skill and loved ones could do, was done, but God saw fit to take him home to be with his brother and mother, who had preceded him to the better world.

Martin was loved by all who knew him and he leaves to mourn his loss, his father and step-mother, Jesse and Lula Randall of Kentland, Ind., one sister, Margaret Randall, of Lafayette, Ind., two nieces, three step-sisters, one step-brother; his aunt, Mrs. Maye Viall and an uncle, Ed Plank, of Astoria; as well as his brothers in the Masonic, Odd Fellows and Woodman lodges. His place cannot be filled in the heart of those who knew him.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the U. B. church, conducted by Rev. W. H. Day. Interment in the Salem cemetery.
