Robert Rowland

IPAVA — After an illness of eight weeks Robert Rowland passed away at his home three and one-half miles east of Ipava, at noon on July 12. Robert Rowland was born on the old homestead where he died, Feb. 25, 1862. He was the son of Ollie and Rachel Rowland and was one of thirteen children — seven of whom grew to maturity. He leaves three sisters to mourn the loss of a devoted brother. They are: Mrs. W. H. Davis, Walnut, Ia.; Mrs. Samuel Lock and Miss Della Rowland who had made their home with him. He was a jolly, good-natured fellow, and counted his friends by the score. He will be greatly missed in Ipava and vicinity, where he is so well known. The funeral was held at this late home Thursday afternoon, Elder M. T. Cooper officiating. Burial in the Ipava cemetery.
