Death of Vermont Boy.

Miles Hobart Rutledge, son of Mrs. May Daugherty of Vermont and a sophomore in the Vermont high school, died Thursday morning at 1:30 o’clock, following a few days’ illness from pneumonia. He was born November 3, 1902. Besides his mother and step-father he is survived by a twin sister, Muriel Miles Rutledge. He was a member of the basket ball squad of the Vermont high school and was highly respected by teachers and pupils. Funeral services were held in the Vermont Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, the Rev. Fred Wilson in charge, and interment was made in the Vermont cemetery.

The young man’s mother is a niece of Wm. Hott, of this city. Young Rutledge took part in a basket ball game that was played in this city between Vermont and Astoria at the high school building on Saturday evening, January 31.
