W. F. RITCHEY

W. F. Ritchey

RAY — W. F. Ritchey was born Dec. 1st, 1849, near Rushville, Ill., and died March 15, 1903, after an illness of one short week, from that dread disease pneumonia fever. Mr. Ritchey was married to Miss Adah C. Simpson Oct. 25, 1882. To this union was born four children, Amanda A., Harry, Carl and Clara, all of whom with the mother, were with him during his last hours. He also leaves 4 sisters and two brothers to mourn the loss of a kind brother, besides many other relatives and friends. He was a gentleman of honest and upright dealings and was a splendid citizen and neighbor. The funeral services were held from Sugar Grove, (north) Chapel Monday at 11 o’clock a.m. conducted by Rev. Ross, of Vermont, after which the remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. The wife and children have the sincere sympathy of many friends in this trying hour of sorrow.

The family circle’s broken here,
A husband, father, brother dear,
Has gone to join the angel throng,
And sing to them that glad new song.
For him life trials are o’er.
Ah! with its breath the spirit bore
An angel husband in its grasp
Then closed the “Book” and sealed the clasp.
