Lewis Ruark, died at his home (722 Oakland Ave.), Peoria, Ill., March 16, 1900. He was born in Lawrence County, Ill., July 18, 1846, aged 53 years, 7 months and 28 days.
He was principally raised in Schuyler County. Thirteen years ago, the family were living in Astoria, and at that time he buried a little son, also his wife, who passed away one week after the death of the child. He leaves three sons, William, with whom he made his home in Peoria, Bert, who lives in Wyoming, Otto, who lives in Canton; two daughters, Mrs. Clarie Williams, of Canton, Miss Amanda Ruark who also resides in Canton.
Funeral services were held from the Astoria, U. B. church, March 17, conducted by Rev. Tyler, and the remains laid to rest by the side of his wife in the Astoria cemetery, to await the resurrection morn.
