She was born Aug. 24, 1941, in Oakland Township, Schuyler County, the daughter of William and Marjorie “Kelly” Eddington. She married George Payne on May 31, 1959, in Rushville. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Kay Paisley (and Kirk) of Rushville, Karen Nissen (and Dave) of Industry and Jill Wilson (and Bailey) of Baring, Mo.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Marian and her husband worked side by side for most of their married life. She was a farm wife, rock quarry assistant and bookkeeper.
She was a 1959 graduate of Rushville High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Robert Kirkham officiating. Burial will follow at the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
