She was born July 3, 1944, in Beardstown, a daughter of Gilbert and Marjorie Ross Lebkuecher. She married Claude Potts.
Surviving are two nephews, Craig (and Mandy) Seward of Beardstown, and his children Cameron Seward and Austin Seward; Eric Seward of Beardstown, and his children Stephanie Seward of Colorado and Clayton Seward of Beardstown.
She was preceded in death by her one sister, Marilyn C. Seward.
She graduated from Beardstown High School Class of 1962. She graduated from Iowa State University where she was a cheerleader and received her Bachelor Degree. She worked for Globe Life Insurance Company in Chicago and transferred to Detroit, Mich., in the 1970s. She moved back to Beardstown to the family farm. She semi retired in 1980 and attended Western Illinois University where she received her Master Degree and later taught at John Woods Community College.
Services will be held at the 1st Lutheran Church in Beardstown on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Catherine Burnette officiating.
Memorials may be made to 1st Lutheran Church of Beardstown or the Cass/Schuyler Hospice.
