Joyce Arlene Paradis, 73, of Cary, N.C., died Aug. 5, 2022, at her home.Joyce Arlene Paradis, 73, of Cary, N.C., died Aug. 5, 2022, at her home.
She was born Feb. 22, 1949, in Koshkonong, Mo., a daughter of Walter Toledo and Ester Pennington Ragan. She married Joe Paradis on Sept. 5, 1971, in Alto Pass. He survives.
Also surviving are one sister, Barb (and Gary) Taylor of Canton; and one brother, Jim (and Annette) Ragan of Elkhart, Ind.
She grew up in Table Grove, then moved to Washington, DC, where she worked 27 years for Gannett Co. on the launch team of USA TODAY newspaper and later as the Executive Assistant to the President, Newspaper Division where she spent the remainder of her career, retiring in 2010.
Her body was donated to the University of North Carolina’s Hospital System for research purposes.
Memorial services will take place in the Cary area with possible future services in the Table Grove area to be determined at a later date.
