Larry Prather

Larry William Prather, 74, of Camden died at 3:15 p.m. May 25, 2022, at Iowa City Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa.

He was born May 30, 1947, in Rushville, a son of Gene and LeIsle Yates Prather. He married Dixie L. Wilson on April 17, 1970, in Mount Sterling. She preceded him in death on Aug. 12, 2018.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Tami Prather.

Surviving are one son, David (and Danielle) Prather of Huntsville; three brothers, Rick (and Sandy) Prather of Rushville and Mike Prather and Roger (and Lisa) Prather, both of Mount Sterling; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was a high school graduate and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966-68. He was a life-long farmer.

A graveside service was held in Palm Cemetery with Pastor Dan Wise officiating. Military Honors were provided by Schuyler American Legion Post #4 and a U.S. Army Honors Detail. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
