Clarence Manley “Corky” Pate, 78, of Rushville died at 9:28 a.m. Oct. 7, 2021, at his residence.
He was born May 29, 1943, in Rushville, a son of Clarence H. and Ileen Vanhyning Pate. He married Linda Palmer on Oct. 6, 1963, in Beardstown. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Belinda Hunter of Rushville and Felicia (and Josh) Wilson of Carthage; one son, Matt (and Michelle) Pate of Normal; one brother, Tommy (and Amber) Pate; and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Tonya Lee Pate; one son, Clarence “Shorty” Manley Pate Jr.; and five sisters, Sally Pherigo, Lonnie Suddeth, Linda Perry, Pat Humphrey and Sandra Fox.
He worked on many tug boats before going to work at Cargill Meat Solutions. He retired from there after 26 years of service.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Larry DeSha officiating.
