Norman “Norm” Max Plate, 82, of Adair died Oct. 24, 2020, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born April 28, 1938, in Fulton County, a son of Lloyd and Nona Onion Plate.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann of Adair; six sons, two daughters and a daughter-in-law, Norman “Rick” Plate of Washington, Randall (and Veronica) Plate of Fort Worth, Texas, Robert (and Scarlett) Plate and Debbie Plate, both of Industry, Shattea (and Marion) White of Table Grove, Amy Hurt of Carthage, Rodney (and Jennifer) Plate of Monmouth, Richey (and Tiffany) Plate of Stronghurst and Ryon Plate (and Danielle) of Adair; one brother, Larry (and Alice) Plate of Adair; one sister, Janice Nelson of Milton, Wash.; several grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Plate; one grandson, Ross Plate; and one granddaughter, Anastacia (Staci) Plate.

He was a lifelong farmer and resident of McDonough County.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Harris Cemetery in Table Grove with Rev. Tom Spain officiating. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, masks are required.

Memorials may be made to the New Salem Fire Protection District.
