Zehrea PhillipsZehrea Bernice Phillips, 98, of Rushville died at 6:14 a.m. Feb. 8, 2020, at the Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville.

She was born Feb. 16, 1921, in Bainbridge Township, Schuyler County, a daughter of William T. and Ida Persinger Haber. She married Willard Phillips on May 25, 1946, in Beardstown. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2001.

She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Dorothy Haber and Josephine Ward; and one brother, Allen Haber.

Surviving are four children, Rick (and Luan) Phillips of Rushville, Patricia Estep of Springfield, Sandra (and Lyle) Wellbrock of Anthony, Kan., and Diane Clow of Hannibal, Mo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a 1938 graduate of Rushville High School. Her first job was working as a secretary at Mickelberrys and later Bartlow Brothers in Rushville.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Women’s Circle Group. She assisted with both the 4-H and Girl Scouts.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating. Burial will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Culbertson Memorial Hospital Foundation, First United Methodist Church in Rushville or the Rushville Public Library.
