Virgil PaulVirgil D. Paul, 98, of Lewistown died at 1:05 a.m. Aug. 7, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Table Grove, the son of Harry and Anna Herriford Paul. He married Shirley Hinds on Dec. 7, 1957, in Macomb. She survives.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad where he worked as a conductor.

He was a World War II Army veteran, and a lifetime member of Ipava American Legion Post 17 and Lewistown VFW Post 5001. He also was a member of Ipava Presbyterian Church, Lewistown Lodge 104 AF and AM, Mohammed Shrine and Scottish Rite.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown where visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery with military rites accorded by Ipava American Legion Post 17.
