Ralph "Red" PeacockRalph Duane “Red” Peacock, 66, of Rushville died March 12, 2014, after a long battle with ill health, surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 5, 1948, in Peoria, a son of John Henry and Verna Maxine Campbell Peacock.

Surviving are four children, Cora Jo (and Brad) Billingsley of Charlotte, N.C., Lora (and Jason) Rapplean of Acworth, Ga., and Kala (and significant other Andy Ebey) Peacock and Kyle (and Katie) Peacock, both of Rushville; four brothers; John (and Carol), Wayne (and Linda), Gerry (and Joyce) and Steve (and Cathy); and seven grandchildren.

He graduated from Rushville High School in 1966. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

He worked for Bohn Aluminum and M&M Vending Company for many years.

He was a member of American Legion, 40/8 and Rocket Booster Club.

He was a Little League coach for many years.

Services were held Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Pichaske officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery with military rites by a U.S. Marine Corp Honors Detail and Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

Memorials may be made to Rocket Booster Club or Rushville Little League.
