Lynn PainterLynn Painter, 68, of Rushville died at 3:37 p.m. Dec. 16, 2013, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 14, 1945, in Will County, a son of Lester and Mary Lorine Weller Painter. He married Janie E. Hannig on March 25, 1970, in Rushville. She preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2007. He later married Janene Schramm Thompson in Rushville on April 9, 2011. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Tim (and Shalee) Painter of Rushville; one daughter, Amy (and Thad) Kerker of Rushville; one stepdaughter, Nikki (and Randy) Rittenhouse of Rushville; one brother, Larry (and Lila) Painter of South Jacksonville; one grandchild; and two step grandchildren.

Lynn received a bachelors degree from Bradley University and a masters degree from Western Illinois University. He taught school at Pekin, Plymouth and Rushville. He was the junior high school principal in Rushville and retired in 2001 as a school administrator for Schuyler School Dist. #1.

He was a member of Schuyler County Mental Health Board. He was a starting pitcher for the Bradley Braves for four years. He enjoyed his Wednesday Night Scripps Park Golf League.

He owned J & L Video in Mount Sterling for 17 years and currently owned and operated J & L Concessions.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Rose Ross officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery north east of Rushville. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
