He was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Canton, the son of Stanley and Mary Beoletto Payne. He married Betty Butler on Aug. 26, 1948, in Lewistown. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Ronald Payne of Canton.
He was a lifelong farmer. He farmed between Norris and Fairview.
He was a member of Lewistown United Methodist Church. He was a 50-year member of Farmington Lodge 192, Illinois Valley Scottish Rite, Mohammed Shrine of Peoria and a Red Cross volunteer.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Monroe Bailey officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the memorial home with a masonic service at 9:45 a.m. Cremation will be accorded following services. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown at a later date.
